Propulsion Engineer

We are highly educated world experts in satellite space propulsion, pioneering the field of streamlined in-orbit propulsion for the rising satellite constellation paradigm. We help our clients in the US, Europe, and Asia, to manoeuvre satellites in space while meeting their short timelines and cost-capped budgets. The company made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world's first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fueled electric propulsion systems, and is currently experiencing strong growth, with over 200 systems ordered to date. We are dedicated to shaping the future of space technology and are seeking a Propulsion Engineer to join our team.

As Propulsion Engineer at ThrustMe, you will play an integral role in the development of next-generation propulsion systems for small satellites, with focus on the superheated water product line of ThrustMe. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to design, analyse, test, and integrate high-performance propulsion systems. By joining the Product Development Team, you will be at the interface between cutting edge research and mass production, turning novel concepts into flight-ready systems.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced electrothermal propulsion systems.
  • Conduct performance and reliability analyses for propulsion systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform CFD simulations to support the development of flow control systems.
  • Plan and conduct test activities, from prototype to flight qualification and acceptance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and physicists in the development and industrialization of ground-breaking products.
  • Regularly reporting to the Head of Product Development.

 

Required skills and qualifications

  • Masters or PhD degree in aerospace engineering or related field.
  • Deep understanding of fluid dynamics and other disciplines involved in the development of propulsion systems.
  • Proficiency with CAD and CFD tools utilized in the development of propulsion systems.
  • Broad background in space technology.
  • Experience planning and conducting tests with propulsion systems is a strong asset.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in propulsion is an asset.
  • Communicates in English fluently.
