Space Propulsion Operations Engineer

ThrustMe is a fast-growing industrial engineering startup in the space sector, founded in 2017. We are highly educated world experts in satellite space propulsion, pioneering the field of streamlined in-orbit propulsion for the rising satellite constellation paradigm. We help our clients in the US, Europe, and Asia, to maneuver satellites in space while meeting their short timelines and cost-capped budgets. The company made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world's first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fuelled electric propulsion systems, bringing the technologies that will revolutionize the space industry.

As Space Propulsion Operations Engineer at ThrustMe, you will work on the analysis of space telemetry received from ThrustMe’s propulsion system operating in space, ensuring efficient algorithms debugging and giving precious inputs for further system improvements. You will directly interface with satellite operators, and support ground qualification and acceptance testing campaigns of new and existing products at ThrustMe.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Space telemetry data post-processing and analysis.
  • Pilot algorithm/software validation campaigns integrate inputs from a broad range of sources (space data, ground experiments, theory, simulation, etc.).
  • Support ongoing missions and assist with the satellite assembly and integration process, launch, commissioning, operational, and de-orbit.
  • Writing reports and technical documentation.
  • Support space and ground experiments with propulsion systems and their subsystems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and physicists in the development and industrialization of ground-breaking products.
  • Conduct performance analysis and generate operational recommendations.
