Head of Sales

ThrustMe is a fast-growing startup in the space sector, founded in 2017 with the mission to enable sustainable use of space while creating value on Earth and beyond. We are experts in satellite space propulsion and made history in 2020 with the world's first in-orbit demonstrations of an iodine-fueled electric propulsion system. Already adopted by established customers in Europe, North America, and Asia, our wide product portfolio has significant market traction using proprietary technologies that will revolutionize the satellite mobility industry.

ThrustMe is looking for a Director-level Sales executive to shape our sales organization and scale revenue to the next level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up sales strategies, develop optimized sales plans, and building our sales team accordingly. With deep knowledge of satellite system architectures and an understanding of the space market, you should be excited by selling into current and new markets to serve our clients' needs. In addition, you strive to reach our sales goals; you love negotiating complex deals, seeing new opportunities, and beating the competition in head-to-head opportunities.

By taking on the role of Head of Sales at ThrustMe, you will have the unique opportunity to influence ThrustMe's future and be essential for reaching our full potential.  You will ultimately become a vital member of ThrustMe's management team, reporting directly to the CEO.


Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead and manage our sales team and operations to achieve the company’s sales goals.
  • Assists in the development of the sales plan and keep track of the sales pipeline.
  • Prepare forecasts and KPI reporting for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning.
  • Prepare and present winning proposals and bids.
  • Negotiate and close long-term supply contracts.
  • Establish and foster positive relationships with current and new partners and customers.
  • Work collaboratively across teams - including Production, Marketing, Product development, and Finance.
  • Keep up to date with market evolution and investigate factors impacting sales performance and monitor changes in the industry and leverage them for business opportunities.

 

Skills and qualifications

  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering. Knowledge in space propulsion, satellite attitude and orbit control or satellite mission analysis is a plus
  • 5 years of relevant sales experience or in roles as bid manager, technical sales, or equivalent.
  • A good sense of business acumen and contract negotiations with extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills.

 

Salary determined by the level of education and related work experience and certifications.
