Project Management Office (PMO) Manager

ThrustMe is a fast-growing startup in the space sector, founded in 2017 with the mission to enable sustainable use of space by delivering advanced satellite mobility solutions to our clients worldwide. We are experts in satellite space propulsion and made history in 2020 with the world's first in-orbit demonstrations of an iodine-fueled electric propulsion system.

Our development activities, from product development to the set-up of large test facilities and lean industrial manufacturing sites, are funded by programs and projects from the European Commission, the French government and space agencies with budgets ranging from 1-20 m€.

ThrustMe is now looking for a PMO manager to administer and monitor our ongoing and future programs, projects, and sub-projects. As our PMO manager, you will be responsible for program vision and development; benefits and quality management; stakeholder management; portfolio management; program, tranche, and project planning, including milestone management; and risk and issue management. Operationally, you will provide project prioritisation and management to ensure that cost, quality, plan, time, and benefits realisation are controlled and achieved. You will thrive
by enabling all projects and project teams to run smoothly within the given time and budget.


By taking on the role of PMO manager at ThrustMe, you will have the unique opportunity to influence ThrustMe's future and be essential for reaching our full potential.  You will ultimately become a vital member of ThrustMe's support function team, reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the CEO and CTO.


Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful implementation and operation of the program and projects.
  • Establish frameworks and standards for program and project management.
  • Manage and compile program-related financial and KPI information and prepare regular status reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to program reporting and assist the team in producing deliverables within time and quality.
  • Oversee project costs and resource allocation and ensure finances and resources are well managed.
  • Update and maintain the risk log, action log, decisions log, and issue register.
  • Ensure cross-program dependencies are managed, and the dependency log is accurately maintained.



Skills and qualifications

  • Proven track record for planning, executing, controlling, and closing projects and the ability to manage a project and its components simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in managing the complete lifecycle of a project.
  • Strong skills in creating and maintaining project and programme plans, including risks, actions, issues, dependencies.
  • Highly efficient in resource planning and tasks assignment.
  • Knowledge of benefits and dependency mapping, risk management and resource planning.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations in both French and English.
  • Diplomatic ability to influence others at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to competently mediate disagreements and negotiate agreeable resolutions.
